I knew yesterday was going to be a good day when it started with some glorious songs in my kitchen with Shona Blake and Anne Rynne. Last night I took the Kildimo bus to the Guru Teahouse in Ennistymon, for their Winter Tuesday music night.
With Conor, Barry and Anne, and guests, we were transported on a meandering journey of tunes and songs to soothe the soul and spirit. As well as feeling like I was taking a good long drink from a well of inspiring creativity with regard to the music and songs I heard, I also got to meet the gorgeous Susan Quirke and hear her sing for the first time. I also got to play the most beautiful Louden guitar and sing Ruby Tuesday.
Afterwards there was a trip to Sugar Island in Quilty for their legendary homemade chips and chats about sticky floor nightclubs we used to frequent, a girl crush on Paloma Faith and the men we had left behind.
We raised a can of coke in salute to the writing and the songs, and I went home a very happy girl. Where else would you get it? West Clare – Truly Blessed to live here.
