Nestled in the Lower Market Street Car Park in the heart of Ennis, The Record Break, a vinyl record boutique with a gorgeous little cafe selling wonderful coffee and fair trade products, provided a truly magical space to perform in last night. It was unique in that performing unplugged in such an intimate setting, I was able to completely connect with the lovely audience. A former bakery run by the Monaghan family, the high ceilings and ambient atmosphere provided a unique setting for the songs. And we broke a few records! 1. Due to illness (Get well soon Gerry Hegarty!) and other circumstances outside our control my band last night was reduced to two! 2. I sang two encores! 3. Our usual post gig chips-on-the-way home was replaced last night by amazing sushi!
Thanks to all who came out to support me, and for being such a fantastic audience, John Roberts who signposted the way to The Record Break, and Sinead for taking a chance on me! Mairead for supplying the phone charger at the eleventh hour. Also to the talented Dylan Sheedy for the amazing ticket design. And of course as always to Chris Wood for the chords and the humour.
